About

The Counterpoint Players

Mandate: To develop, produce, and play with theatre that provides a counterpoint – engaging the audience and actors in a consciousness-raising theatrical event that makes use of contrasting and complementary elements.  Each element, perspective, or “melodic line,” is individual and unique, creating effective contrasts that transfigure the theatrical work and affect the audience.

The Counterpoint Players develops new works by creating an innovative and fresh story inspired by a particular playwright or era in theatre or world history.  Through these projects, the Counterpoint Players exposes its artists and its audience to seminal theatrical works, while creating new stories and characters in the context of today’s world.
